Dawn House hi-low home hospital bed with upholstered headboard in a bright, furnished bedroom

Home Hospital Beds in Gilbert, Arizona

A busy Gilbert household rarely plans for the week someone comes home from surgery, or the month a parent moves into the spare room. Suddenly the bed is the hardest place in the house: too high to climb into, too low to stand up from, impossible to sit up in.

Electropedic's hi-low beds solve that in the bedroom you already have, without making it look like a ward, and our handmade Latexpedic latex mattresses make every position comfortable.

The Town of Gilbert, in Arizona's East Valley. Beds and mattresses are delivered here from Electropedic Phoenix.

Choosing a Bed in Three Questions

Most families come to us overwhelmed by features. These three questions, answered in order, narrow six bed lines down to one or two.

  1. Who needs the help?

If the person in bed can still move independently, a furniture-style hi-low bed like the Ascend or Flexabed restores confidence. If a caregiver does the lifting, height range and caster stability matter more.

  2. Which positions are prescribed?

Head and foot elevation suit most needs. If a doctor or home-health nurse has mentioned Trendelenburg or reverse Trendelenburg, look at the Supernal 5 or Tuffcare.

  3. Who else sleeps there?

Couples who want to stay together should look at Dual King and split options. A bed for a guest room or a single sleeper opens up the full range.

For families sharing care between work, school runs and a parent at home

The struggle

You, a sibling and a visiting aide all take shifts, and the bed has to work for every one of them. Bending over a low mattress to reposition a parent ten times a day leaves everyone sore, and a patient lift won't slide under an ordinary bed frame.

The answer

One five-function pendant that anyone can learn in a minute. Nine inches of open clearance under the recessed frame for a patient lift and easy cleaning. Trendelenburg, reverse Trendelenburg and a lawn-chair position on demand, and an external backup battery that keeps the bed moving for up to seven minutes in an outage.

  • T7036: 36 x 80 in., up to 600 lb.
  • T7042: 42 x 80 in.
  • Two-piece split frame
  • Eight 4-inch locking casters
  • Optional half rails

Supernal 3 Hi-Low

For the weeks after a new hip or knee

The struggle

The surgery went well. The first night home did not. A tall mattress means a hop down onto a new joint, and a soft, low one means pushing up with arms that are already tired from the walker. Every trip to the bathroom becomes a negotiation.

The answer

The Supernal 3 drops to a very low position, so you sit on the edge with feet flat and hips above knees, then raises at a touch so standing takes less effort. Head and foot elevation help with swelling and rest, the wall-hugging frame keeps the nightstand close, and hidden motors keep the bedroom looking like a bedroom.

  • Hi-low, head and foot
  • Very low minimum height
  • Twin XL, Full XL, Queen, Dual King
  • Optional support rail

Supernal 5 Adjustable Bed System

For couples when only one partner needs clinical care

The struggle

The care team recommends tilting the whole bed, and the usual answer is a single clinical bed in the corner. After decades together, one of you moves to a separate bed, and both of you sleep worse for it.

The answer

In a Dual King configuration, each side of the Supernal 5 moves on its own. One partner can use Trendelenburg, reverse Trendelenburg, hi-low and zero-gravity positioning while the other sleeps flat, side by side, under one upholstered, furniture-grade frame.

  • Trendelenburg and reverse
  • Hi-low, head, foot, tilt
  • Zero gravity
  • Twin XL, Full XL, Queen, Dual King

Flexabed Hi-Low SL

For the spouse who has quietly become the caregiver

The struggle

Your husband is taller and heavier than you, and helping him sit up or roll over at a normal bed height means pulling from a crouch. You don't complain, but your back does, and you lie awake wondering how long you can keep it up.

The answer

The Hi-Low SL raises the entire bed straight up to your working height with one button, then lowers it again for sleep. Head and foot adjust independently on each side, so your half stays comfortable for you. Each bed is hand-built to order, with padded rail covers, underbed lighting and app control available.

  • Independent sides
  • Hand-built since 1969
  • Rail covers and underbed lights

The Dawn House Bed

For the 2 a.m. walk to the bathroom

The struggle

Most falls at home happen in the dark, half-awake, between the bed and the bathroom. Fumbling for a lamp, sliding off a high mattress onto an unseen floor: one bad step can undo months of independence.

The answer

Motion-activated underbed lighting turns on as feet reach the floor, and hi-low height puts the mattress at a safe sitting level. Built-in sensors passively track heart rate, breathing, movement and sleep stages with no wearable, and share reports through an app. Voice control, Rise to Wake and an automatic anti-snore lift round it out.

  • Motion-activated underbed lighting
  • Passive health sensors
  • Voice, app and remote

Ascend High-Low Adjustable Bed with Tilt

For the partner kept awake by snoring

The struggle

Snoring is worse flat on the back, but raising only the head section folds a side sleeper in half. So one of you ends up on the couch or the guest bed, and nobody wakes up rested.

The answer

The Ascend tilts the whole sleep surface up to seven degrees, a gentle, even incline you can sleep on in any position. It adds about seven inches of hi-low travel for easier transfers, head and foot articulation, a zero-gravity preset, underbed lighting and a double-click return to flat. Split King lets each sleeper choose their own angle.

  • Full-bed tilt to 7 degrees
  • About 17.9 to 25.4 in. high
  • Twin XL, Full, Queen, Split King
  • 10-year limited warranty

Latexpedic Mattresses, Made for Beds That Move

The right bed with the wrong mattress still means a bad night. Here is why we make our own.

Latexpedic certified organic latex mattress with cotton and wool quilting
A Latexpedic organic latex mattress.

Sore hips, a hot back and a mattress that fights the bed

A hospital-bed mattress spends its life bending. Cheap foam creases at the hinge, forms a ridge under the knees, and holds body heat long after a warm East Valley evening has cooled. Innerspring mattresses resist the bend altogether. Either way, the person who needs the most rest gets pressure points and a restless night.

Latexpedic mattresses are latex from top to bottom, wrapped in cotton and wool. Natural latex springs back instantly, flexes smoothly through every head, foot and tilt position, and its open-cell structure breathes. Wool serves as a natural fire barrier without added chemicals.

  • Factory directElectropedic makes, sells and delivers every mattress itself, with no middleman.
  • Handmade, one at a timeEach mattress is built individually by hand in our family's factory.
  • Fully reversibleAll latex from top to bottom, so it can be flipped for even wear.
  • Quilted on both sidesCotton and wool on both faces, so either side feels just as soft.
  • Handles and a zipperHandles for turning, and a zippered cover so firmness can be changed later.
  • 20-year limited warrantyBacked by a family that has built beds since 1964.
Latexpedic 7-inch natural latex mattress for hospital beds with side rails

7-Inch

Rail-friendly profile

Keeps the sleeper well below the top of the side rails and the sitting height as low as possible, which makes it our usual pairing for the Tuffcare and Supernal 5.

10-Inch

Everyday comfort

More cushion at the shoulders and hips for people who spend part of the day in bed, while still folding neatly at the hinge of a hi-low base.

The Ultimate 12-inch Latexpedic mattress with three layers of natural latex

12-Inch

The Ultimate

Three latex layers for the deepest pressure relief we make. A favorite on furniture-style beds like the Dawn House and Ascend.

Four Firmnesses for Every Profile

The 7-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch models are each made in all four firmnesses, from the softest to the firmest.

  1. SoftPlush and enveloping

Cradles bony hips and shoulders; well liked by lighter side sleepers.

  2. Regular FirmMedium

A middle ground that keeps the spine aligned in most positions.

  3. Extra FirmSupportive

Less sink, easier to shift and sit up on; good for back sleepers.

  4. Ultra FirmFirmest

A solid, stable surface for those who want almost no give.

Hospital Beds for the Town of Gilbert

What we have learned from helping East Valley families, and answers to the questions Gilbert callers ask first.

Multigenerational homes

Gilbert is known for family neighborhoods, and more and more of those homes now include a grandparent. When a parent moves into a downstairs guest room in Val Vista Lakes, Agritopia or Power Ranch, a furniture-style hi-low bed lets that room stay a real bedroom instead of a medical space the grandkids tiptoe past.

Ready for discharge day

Families often call us after a stay at Banner Gateway Medical Center or Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, when the discharge planner mentions a hospital bed. Call as soon as you have a date. We will confirm size and room layout by phone, then schedule delivery and set-up so the bed is waiting, made up and working, when your family member gets home.

See it before you buy it

A bed is personal. At our Phoenix showroom you can sit on the edge of each one, test the height range and lie on every Latexpedic firmness side by side. Many Gilbert customers make one trip, decide in an afternoon, and let us handle the rest.

Gilbert questions

Do you deliver to Gilbert?

Yes. Electropedic Phoenix delivers and sets up beds and mattresses in Gilbert. Call 800-733-1818 to choose a delivery time.

How long is the drive to your showroom?

Electropedic Phoenix is roughly 25 to 30 miles from central Gilbert, typically 35 to 50 minutes depending on traffic. The map at the bottom of this page plots today's route.

Will a hi-low bed fit through my doors and hallway?

Usually, yes. These beds arrive in sections and are assembled in the bedroom; the Tuffcare uses a two-piece split frame. Measure your doorways and room before calling and we will confirm the fit.

Do you rent hospital beds for short recoveries?

Rentals are available on selected hospital beds. Call the Phoenix showroom for current availability and terms.

Can I change the mattress firmness later?

Every Latexpedic mattress has a zippered cover, so its latex layers can be changed to a different firmness after delivery. Ask our staff about current exchange terms.
